The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Institute of International Education. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the U.S. Department of State fosters mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of countries throughout the world.

The Scholarship offers up to $5000 for undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. The Scholarship recipients are eligible to receive an additional $3,000 Critical Need Language Supplementfor a total possible award of up to $8,000.
