International Education Week

Monday, November 16

"Short-term Study Abroad Program Fair"
Noon - 1:00 pm
Student Center, Conference Room A,B, and C 

Faculty coordinators will showcase the summer study abroad progams in the following countries/regions: Argentina, China, Ecuador, France, Greece, Honduras, Ireland, Italy, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Spain, and Uganda. 

"Intercultural Learning Showcase"
6:00 - 7:30 pm
Le Mans Hall, Stapleton Lounge

Study abroad returnees and international students  will share their study abroad experiences and interactions with local people in different cultural contexts.
Winners of the 
2015 study abroad photo, video, and essay contests will be announced at the event.

"Writing Across the World - ELS Program"
Noon - 1:00 pm
Student Center Atrium 

The English Language School students invite you to visit the Student Center atrium to learn more about their native languages.  Students from Japan, China, Mexico, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia will share their language by writing your name or favorite saying on a card you can take with you.  Please join us and learn more about languages from across the world!

"Making Chinese Crafts - Beijing Opera Facial Masks"
Noon -1:00 pm

This event will help you understand the charm of Beijing (Peking) Opera - the quintessence of Chinese Culture. The Chinese visiting teacher, Ms. Yonghe Ji will teach you how to design and make the facial masks.

"Kwibuka 20: Attending the Genocide Commemoration events in Rwanda"

Professor Bettina Spencer will discuss her time in Rwanda commemorating the anniversary of the Rwandan genocide.

"International Cultural Festival - Showcase of World Traditions & Cultures"

Students will be celebrating and demonstrating the beauty of their country and culture by sharing through music, dance and cultural talents from around the world. Come enjoy an evening of global entertainment! Wonderful refreshments will be available.
